Alleged Landgrabber, Murphy Adebare Arrested After Months on the Run, To Be Charged To Court Tomorrow

Alleged  Landgrabber, Murphy Adebare Arrested After Months on the Run, To Be Charged To Court Tomorrow

Murphy Adebare, popularly known as Topaz, was today apprehended by the Nigerian Police Force  after three months of allegedly evading arrest. Adebare, who had allegedly been in hiding, was finally apprehended and he's set to face court charges for land grabbing, fraud, forgery, and criminal trespass before Justice Mojisola Dada.

Adebare's arrest follows an extensive investigation into allegations made by the "Resettlement Committee on Abomiti, Yeguda, and Eyin-Osa." The committee, responsible for managing the land acquired by the Lagos State Government for the Lekki Free Trade project, raised serious concerns regarding Adebare's activities.

Adebare was alleged to be a fraudster who specializes in using either government-acquisition land or land already allocated to another to defraud innocent land buyers through his company Topaz Gardens.
Alleged Fraudster and Landgrabber Murphy Adebare Arrested After Months on the Run, To Be Charged To Court Tomorrow

Murphy Adebare, popularly known as Topaz, was apprehended by the Nigerian Police Force today after three months of allegedly evading arrest. Adebare, who had been in hiding, was finally apprehended and is set to face court charges for land grabbing, fraud, forgery, and criminal trespass before Justice Mojisola Dada.

According to the charges, Police investigation  and legal advice from the CP Legal Office in charge of the case from Abuja, a letter was earlier this year sent to the Commissioner of Police, Legal/Prosecution Section, Force Criminal Intelligent Investigation Department (FCIID), seeking advice on the report on multiple offenses against Murphy Adebare and the charges including the unlawful invasion of landed property, malicious damage, conspiracy, harassment, fraudulent sale of Eyin Osa land, giving false information to mislead law enforcement officers and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace in the metropolitan area of Lagos State which contravene the Lagos State Properties Protection Law 2016.

The Eyin Osa committee provided substantial evidence to support their claims of being the authorized body entrusted with managing the land. In contrast, Adebare allegedly failed to produce credible evidence during the investigation to substantiate his claim of acquiring the land legally.

The individuals he alleged to have sold the land to him also denied  such transactions because the portion he is claiming doesn't even belong to the witness he provided during the DIG interview.

Based on the evidence gathered, the investigating team concluded that a prima facie case had been established against Adebare and his associates. They recommended that charges be brought against them, including conspiracy, criminal trespass, assault, forceful takeover, illegal occupation of property, illegal use of law enforcement agents, encroachment with a weapon, and frivolous petitions.

Following his arrest, Adebare was detained at the Area J Police Station in Ajah, Lagos.

However, concerns have arisen regarding the involvement of a ranking senior police officer serving under the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Force Criminal Intelligence Department (CID), Mr. Egbetokun, who is allegedly putting pressure to secure Adebare's release on bail without surety to obstruct the court from hearing the criminal charges hearing scheduled for tomorrow, knowningfully that Murphy Adebare will not go to court willingly because he had once been declared wanted  on land-grabbing case.

Murphy Adebare also alleged to have  been organizing high level invasion with Razaq Sule A.K.A Sucess Sars and Sir .K. Oluwo to invade the peaceful resettlement land.

The actions of the officers working with the DIG Egbetokun have raised eyebrows, with Eyin Osa landowners questioning the potential interference in the judicial process. The case must proceed fairly and impartially to ensure justice is served and the rule of law upheld.

As Adebare prepares to face court charges tomorrow, the Nigerian public awaits the outcome of this high-profile case, hoping for a fair and transparent legal process that will bring about accountability for the land-grabbing crimes Allegedly committed by the CEO of Topaz Property who was once declared wanted by the Zone 2 command on  similar offense in 2018.

DSS’ Siege on Our Lagos Office Shocking - EFCC

EFCC Statement

DSS’ Siege on Our Lagos Office Shocking - EFCC

The operatives of the Lagos Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arrived at their office on No. 15 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, this morning, May 30, 2023, to be denied entry by agents of the Department of State Services, DSS, who had barricaded the entrance with armoured personnel carriers.

This development is strange to the Commission given that we have cohabited with the DSS in that facility for 20 years without incident.

By denying operatives access to their offices, the Commission’s operations at its largest hub with over 500 personnel, hundreds of exhibits, and many suspects in detention have been disrupted.

Cases scheduled for court hearing today have been aborted, while many suspects who had been invited for questioning are left unattended.

Even more alarming is that suspects in detention are left without care with grave implications for their rights as inmates.

All of these have wilder implications for the nation’s fight against economic and financial crimes.

The siege is inconsistent with the synergy expected of agencies working for the same government and nation, especially when there are ongoing discussions on the matter.

Removal of Fuel Subsidy in Nigeria: Meaning and Effects on the Everyday Nigerian
naijmobile.com2 hours ago
Nigeria, as one of the major oil-producing countries in the world, has long grappled with the issue of fuel subsidy. The subsidy is a government policy that aims to cushion the impact of rising fuel prices on its citizens by providing financial support to reduce the cost of petroleum products.

However, the removal of fuel subsidy has become a subject of intense debate in recent years. In this article, we will delve into the meaning of fuel subsidy, examine the reasons behind its removal, and discuss the potential effects on the everyday lives of Nigerians.

Understanding Fuel Subsidy
Fuel subsidy refers to the financial assistance provided by the government to reduce the cost of fuel for consumers. It involves selling petroleum products at a lower price than the actual market value, with the difference covered by the government. The intention is to make fuel more affordable and to alleviate the burden of high energy costs on the population.

Reasons for Removal
The decision to remove fuel subsidy in Nigeria is driven by several factors. Firstly, the cost of fuel subsidy has become an enormous burden on the government’s finances. Subsidies have been known to consume a significant portion of the national budget, diverting funds that could be allocated to other developmental projects such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.

Secondly, the subsidy regime has been plagued by corruption and inefficiencies. The system is prone to exploitation by unscrupulous individuals who divert subsidized fuel to neighboring countries for profit, leading to smuggling and loss of revenue for the government. Furthermore, the subsidy scheme has been criticized for benefiting the affluent more than the poor, as the wealthy tend to consume more fuel.

Effects on Everyday Nigerians
Increase in Fuel Prices
The removal of fuel subsidy will inevitably lead to a significant increase in fuel prices. This rise will directly impact the cost of transportation, affecting the prices of goods and services across the board. The average Nigerian, already grappling with a high cost of living, may experience additional financial strain.

For example, imagine a typical Nigerian worker who commutes to work daily. With the removal of fuel subsidy, the cost of transportation could increase by a substantial margin, resulting in reduced disposable income and potential hardship.

Inflationary Pressure
The ripple effect of increased fuel prices will likely lead to a surge in inflation. As transportation costs rise, the cost of transporting goods and services will also increase. This increase in production costs will be passed on to consumers, leading to higher prices for basic necessities, such as food, utilities, and healthcare.

For instance, the removal of fuel subsidy could cause transportation costs for farmers to rise significantly. Consequently, the price of agricultural produce may skyrocket, making food less affordable for the average Nigerian.

Economic Diversification
The removal of fuel subsidy could serve as a catalyst for economic diversification. With the government no longer burdened by the high costs of subsidies, funds could be redirected towards other sectors, such as agriculture, manufacturing, and technology. This shift would create opportunities for job creation, innovation, and overall economic growth.

For instance, the government could invest in renewable energy projects and encourage the adoption of alternative energy sources, reducing the nation’s dependence on fossil fuels and fostering a greener, more sustainable future.

Conclusion
The removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria is a complex issue with both positive and negative ramifications. While it may alleviate the burden on the government’s finances and foster economic diversification, it could also lead to increased fuel prices, inflation, and financial strain for the average Nigerian.

Deteriorating Infrastructure: Ikeja GRA Residents Demand Immediate Resolution to Damaging Road and Flood Crisis

Deteriorating Infrastructure: Ikeja GRA Residents Demand Immediate Resolution to Damaging Road and Flood Crisis

Inhabitants of Sobo Arobiodu and Adeyemo Alakija streets in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria are currently living in distress as they face the recurring issue of bad roads and severe flooding during the rainy season. The roads, which were once well-tiled and suitable for drive, these roads have turned into a nightmare for residents over the past one year since the Lagos State Government initiated a road reconstruction project that was unfortunately left incomplete.

The project, which aimed to improve the infrastructure of the area, instead resulted in a haphazard disorganization of the roads, leaving them in a worse condition than before. The incomplete construction work has become a breeding ground for stagnant water, causing floods to wreak havoc in the vicinity whenever it rains. The residents, who have endured this deteriorating situation for months, are now desperately calling upon the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu, to intervene and address their plight as the situation exacerbates day by day.

The impact of the dilapidated roads on the residents' daily lives cannot be understated. Commuting has become a challenge, with the roads transforming into treacherous pools of water, rendering them virtually impassable during heavy rains. Motorists are left stranded, while pedestrians have to navigate through ankle-deep water, risking their safety and health. The flooded roads have also resulted in damage to vehicles, causing financial burdens on already struggling residents.

Sobo Arobiodu and Adeyemo Alakija streets, which were once considered prominent locations in GRA, have now become synonymous with frustration and inconvenience. The residents, who previously took pride in their well-maintained neighborhood, are now forced to endure the aftermath of the abandoned reconstruction project.

In a video currently trending on social media, a resident  expressed her disappointment with the lack of progress and pleaded for immediate action. She said, "We are appealing to Governor Babajide Sanwoolu to come to our aid. The condition of our roads has become unbearable, and the flooding is causing us great distress. Our pleas for assistance seem to have fallen on deaf ears, but we hope that the Governor will hear our cry and take swift action."

The residents are hopeful that their plea will be heard by the Lagos State Government and that the necessary steps will be taken to rectify the situation promptly. They believe that Governor Babajide Sanwoolu's commitment to infrastructure development and improving the lives of Lagosians will extend to their community, alleviating their plight and restoring their faith in a better future.

As the residents of Sobo Arobiodu and Adeyemo Alakija streets continue to endure the effects of the abandoned road construction project, their hopes rest on the swift intervention of the Lagos State Government. Only time will tell if their calls for assistance will be answered, and if their once thriving neighborhood will be restored to its former glory.

JUST-IN: I Will Never Call Tinubu My President, Says Pastor Bakare

I Will Never Call Tinubu My President, Says Pastor Bakare
The Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has said that he will never call the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, his president.

The cleric and politician, during a webinar on Saturday, alleged a series of malpractices during the 2023 elections, saying the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) made a mess of the electioneering process.

He said these while responding during a Question and Answer session after delivering his speech on the Zoom programme titled, ‘Building the New Nigeria: The Role of the Diaspora’ organised by the PTB4Nigeria In Diaspora Group.

The meeting began 7pm Saturday night and was monitored by our correspondent.

While speaking earlier during the programme, he said the 2023 elections were below acceptable standards.

When asked if he would be happy to work for the new government as a Minister of Diaspora Engagements, he laughed and said he would say what he said to the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari last week.

Bakare said he told Buhari that sometimes he called him President of Nigeria and other times, he called him “My President.”

“Last Wednesday, I was at the Glass House where he (Buhari) has been restricted now because the main house is being renovated. I said I have done that for you. I want you to know that, because of the circumstances of your flying into power on the wings of integrity and incorruptibility, but you’re now passing onto someone who does not have that value,” the cleric told the participants.

He said that at “any public lecture anywhere, before this mess is cleared off, I will address Asiwaju as a President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria but I will never call him my president.”

He said he didn’t participate in the elections, and therefore, no one could say he lost in the exercise.

Bakare, who participated in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election on June 14, 2022 and polled no vote, said: “I participated in the primary, and there were hundreds who participated only by stepping down, so there is no shame in what we have done. We spoke truth to power within seven minutes.

“I wasn’t there when they voted, I wasn’t there when they scored (me) zero, but we won that badge of zero and badge of honour.”

How PDP Ogun Gov Candidate, Ladi Adebutu Fled Nigeria To Evade Arrest Over Vote Buying, Money Laundering

How PDP Ogun Gov Candidate, Ladi Adebutu Fled Nigeria To Evade Arrest Over Vote Buying, Money Laundering

How PDP Ogun Gov Candidate, Ladi Adebutu Fled Nigeria To Evade Arrest Over Vote Buying,

Contrary to his claim that he left the country because of alleged threats to his life, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18 governorship election in Ogun State, Hon Ladi Adebutu, actually travelled abroad to evade the long arm of the law over alleged criminal activities, sources have revealed.

Checks revealed that Adebutu left the country following security agencies’ uncovering of a vote buying plot linked to him during the March 18, 2023 governorship and House of Assembly polls in Ogun State and the invitation extended to him to clarify issues.

According to the sources, Adebutu was alleged to have perpetrated bribery, conspiracy and peddling undue influence contrary to sections 121 and 127 of the Electoral Act 2022;  breach of electoral law prohibiting vote trading, deliberate facilitation of money laundering, and connivance to deliberately breach the  monetary policy of the Federation.

Sources revealed that in a letter made available to security agencies investigating his criminal activities, Adebutu had indicated that he travelled abroad to seek medical care, and had given no indication of threat to life.

Sources within the security services indicated that preliminary investigations showed that in the build-up to the election, Adebutu had contacted his bank and caused over 200,000 prepaid Verve bank cards preloaded with N10,000 each to be printed.

A credible security source confirmed,  with clear-cut evidence that these Verve Bank Cards were delivered directly  in two batches on the 16th and 17th of March 2023,  respectively,  by an accounts officer from a new generation bank.

This, it was  maintained, is a violation of Section 121of the Electoral Act (2022), which prescribes 12 months’ imprisonment for any “person who directly or indirectly, by his or herself or by any other person on his other behalf corruptly makes any gift, loan, offer, promise, procurement or agreement to or for any person, in order to induce such person to procure or to endeavour to procure the return of any person as a member of a legislative house or to an elective office or the vote of any voter at any election.”

The Verve cards, which were supposedly printed to honour the lawmaker’s late mother, were however uncovered as vote buying instruments going by the confessions of party agents and POS operators arrested by security agencies during the polls, which indicted the PDP guber candidate.

Adebutu was said to have applied for the Verve cards from the Bank on February 27, 3023 two days after the presidential election which the PDP lost by a wide margin in Ogun State, following which the cards were delivered to him by his relationship officer in the bank.

Investigation further revealed that contrary to Adebutu’s claim that the cards were issued during his mother’s burial, they were actually issued few days to the election, raising the obvious question of collusion by the bank with a politically exposed person to perpetrate electoral fraud.

Also, the statements by some of Adebutu’s polling agents that were arrested confirmed that he gave them the cards to manipulate the March 18 polls.

The sources described Adebutu’s actions , using game-betting platforms and POS operators, as well planned, carefully orchestrated and unprecedented electoral fraud made out of desperation after losing the February 25, 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Adebutu and his agents were said to have distributed the cards throughout the over 5000 polling units and positioned POS operators at the same so each voter could convert the card to cash at the POS terminals.

The cards were said to have been funded on the 16th and 17th of March directly from Adebutu’s account with the Bank, with the lawmaker paying over N2.4bn directly from his account.

Said a source: “Checks at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) showed that the foundation in whose name the PDP candidate carried out his criminal activities were fictitious.

“We have it on good authority that following a petition written to security agencies over the incident, it was observed that Adebutu expended huge sums to manipulate the March 18 2023. governorship election in Ogun State.

“Hon Adebutu caused prepaid Verve cards preloaded with N10,000 each and bearing such inscriptions as Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu Empowerment Scheme, Dame Caroline Scheme and “Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu Memorial Endowment Scheme, to be printed under the guise of honouring his late mother, but it was a vote buying gimmick, and these cards were used to buy votes on March 18.

“Luck, however, ran out on him when party agents and POS operators who were  used to perpetrate the deliberate manipulation of the electoral process were arrested by the security agencies and made statements that indicted him.

“The financial institutions that collaborated with him have revealed that he contacted them to create the cards which were delivered to him two days to the governorship election.

“It was when he observed that all these things had come into the open that he suddenly disappeared into thin air in order to evade justice.”

The security sources, which accused the PDP lawmaker of violating Sections 121 and 127 of the Electoral Act (2022) which expressly forbid vote buying, said that it was regrettable that Adebutu had flagrantly violated laws meant to sanitize Nigeria’s electoral process.

Tinubu’s Inauguration Hangs in the Balance as Supreme Court to Decide on Qualification on may 26

Tinubu’s Inauguration Hangs in the Balance as Supreme Court to Decide on Qualification on May 26

dual citizenship, SKC Ogbonnia, All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Buhari, Bola Tinubu
National leader of the All Progressive Congress Bola Tinubu
ABUJA, Nigeria — In a highly anticipated decision that could shape the political landscape of Nigeria, the Supreme Court has scheduled a verdict on May 26 on a case brought by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging the qualifications of President-elect Bola Tinubu and Vice-President-elect Kassim Shettima.

The PDP seeks to overturn the judgment of the Court of Appeal, presided over by Justice James Abundaga, which determined that the party lacked the standing to bring the suit.

The appeal seeks to disqualify Tinubu based on a purported double nomination of his deputy, Shettima, who, according to PDP, simultaneously held positions as both a Senatorial and Vice Presidential candidate.

The outcome of this case could have seismic implications. If upheld, Shettima’s disqualification would jeopardize the swearing-in of Tinubu as president since they were elected on a joint ticket.

Senior lawyer Joe Agim, representing the PDP, argued before the Supreme Court that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had previously conceded to Shettima’s double nomination during the appellate court proceedings, a claim vehemently denied by the APC.

Drawing upon a precedent set in the case of Uche Nwosu against the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Agim contended that the defendants should not have the right to present an argument given the alleged double nomination.

“There’s a punishment for double nomination. They ought not to be heard,” Mr Agim forcefully told the court on Monday. “It should never happen in this country.”

As the nation watches, the verdict on Friday will not only determine the fate of the incoming leadership but could also set a crucial precedent for the democratic processes in Nigeria, reinforcing the sanctity of its electoral laws.

Afenifere Reacts As APC Leaders Meet Bode George Over TinubuPresident-elect, Bola Tinubu and Bode George
Former Military Governor of Ondo State and Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has dropped his differences with President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and promised to pray for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate should the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal affirm he won the February 25th presidential election.

George spoke extensively during an interview yesterday about his position on the May 29 swearing-in of Tinubu as Nigeria’s next president and other issues of great importance ahead of the new governance.

When asked to speak further on why he had refused to visit Tinubu, and if his decision was because his party, the PDP is in court to challenge the APC candidate’s victory, George said: “Well, what will my visit add or subtract from him? If my party is in court with him, contesting the result of the last presidential election, and I am a life member of the board of trustees of the party and one man representing the whole of the South-West in the national caucus of the party, what other level of respect and regard could they (the PDP) have given me? If the court decides that he (Tinubu) is the winner, we will still do a post-mortem analysis and at that time, we will pray for Nigeria that God will lead this country right. I remember when President Muhammadu Buhari was coming. There were certain definitive statements that he made, that he would fight corruption, among many other things and we were all praying for him.”

According to him, once anybody emerges, “All we can do is call the grace of the Almighty to take control of this country to be peaceful. Forget about the individual. Our political differences are as different as day and night, so, what will I say I am going to do (by meeting Tinubu)? To look for (a political) position or what? All we will do is wish them well, that the Almighty God will bring peace to Nigeria using them, but the experience we had here in Lagos is that my state is in dire need of leadership. Nigeria is in dire need of leadership, no doubt about that. We are drifting like a ship at sea, with hurricane storms increasing; so, we need a lot of prayers. After praying, if I’m not satisfied, I have the option of getting out. I’m almost 80 years old. What else am I looking for? I want to spend the rest of my life in peace, not with these character-ravaging guys on the streets; the ‘agberos’ (louts). They left them on the street when they could have organised skills acquisition programmes for them to acquire skills. We have a big issue ahead of us in this country.”

On the chances of his party and candidate, Atiku Abubakar, winning the case in court, George said: “Yes, that’s why we are there. We have made presentations to the court and all the other political parties have also tendered their reports there. I am hopeful that the judiciary will remember their oath of office and that lady of justice, the stature you find in all law courts that is blindfolded with a sword and a scale, saying that she will dispense justice irrespective of colour, name, or race, will dispense justice based on the fact before it. So, we are praying for it.”

Tinubu Has Only Six To Seven Months In Office Before Atiku Takes Over - Bwala
A spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar presidential campaign, Daniel Bwala has expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate would be victorious at the tribunal.

According to Bwala, the President-elect, Bola Tinubu would be sworn in on May 29 but would also be sacked from office six to seven months later.

The PDP chieftain predicted that his principal and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar would then take over as the President of Nigeria.

He made the submission while speaking on Arise TV about the suit before the presidential election petition tribunal in which Atiku is challenging the declaration of Tinubu as the president-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Asked during the programme about the accusations of electoral malpractice against PDP, Bwala said the party has apologized to Nigerians for its mistakes but the APC has not done so.

He said, “PDP has over the years admitted that they made so many mistakes. I remember Secondus one time when he became the chairman of the party taking a campaign across the country to tell Nigerians that PDP is sorry. Has APC ever said “We are sorry”?

“This is a party that wants to make lies a statecraft. They announced that the president-elect was traveling on an official visit where he’ll meet with investors, where he’ll do this and that. How many days has he been away? We haven’t seen a picture of him alighting from a plane or investors receiving him.”

On the chances of the PDP at the tribunal, the campaign spokesperson expressed optimism that Atiku would win and take over power.

“When he (Tinubu) becomes president on May 29, he’ll have about six or seven months before he’ll be sacked and then we’ll come and take over the power,” he said.

IPOB: Why we set Nnamdi Kanu free –A’Court judge

IPOB: Why we set Nnamdi Kanu free –A’Court judge

One of the three-member panel of justices of the Appeal Court that set free leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, of the treasonable felony charges preferred against him by the Federal Government has revealed reasons behind their verdict.

The retired judge, Oludotun Adefope-Okojie, stated this during the valedictory court session organised in her honour by the court in Lagos, yesterday.

“The judiciary is the last hope of this country and must not allow itself to be influenced by any consideration other than to do justice in all matter. It must live up to its duty to protect the people and to deliver justice to the deserving. In doing this, it must be insulated from politics and must, where necessary, be bold enough to call the executive to order.

“I restate an injunction I expressed in the judgment in the case of Nnamdi vs Federal Republic of Nigeria in Appeal No CA/ABJ/CR/625/2022 delivered on 13th October 2022, in which I was privileged to write the leading judgment that:

“The courts must never shy away from calling the executive to order when they resort to acts of “executive lawlessness. The duty of the courts is to maintain a balance between ensuring that law and order is obeyed and the protection of the individual from oppressive actions by the executive.

“I stand by this position. No authority must be allowed to go against its own domestic laws and international laws to perpetrate any act against its citizens.”

The retired judge, who spent 27 years on the bench, maintained that it was not acceptable that a case averagely takes more than five years to conclude at trial, more than three years in the Court of Appeal and an average of about 12 years in the Supreme Court.

She noted that a country that seeks foreign investment must get its court system functional, accelerated and receptive to the needs of the domestic and international people.

The judge also pointed out that no country or business wants to invest in a country where judicial disputes take forever to conclude at all. Justice  Adefope-Okojie, therefore, suggested that the judiciary should embrace arbitration to speed up justice delivery.

President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, described Justice Adefope-Okojie as a hardworking, fair-minded and courteous jurist.

Also speaking,  Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, praised the retiring Justice for her positive and impact legacy on the beach.

Kidnaper : I give my victims, who are unable to pay their ransom, human feces to eat till they pass away

The Nigerian Bayelsa State Police apprehended a nasty kidnapper named Godwin Heron, who was terrorising the indigenous people of Bayelsa. Heron is from the village of lobia, south of Ijau LGA, Baelsa State. The Inspector, the sister of the acting governor, has apparently been abducted by the notorious kidnapper known as Big Daddy.
Another prominent local artist, Pereama Freetown’s Amaebi Effele (aka Double Snake), was reportedly abducted by the suspect as he was en route to negotiate the release of one of the hostages. Many people on their way to pay a ransom were kidnapped by this infamous bandit, including Pena Mogg.

This guy was so evil that he forced his victims to consume their own faeces as a source of nutrition until he starved to death. Over the years, he has been involved in kidnappings and has been on the police’s wanted list numerous times.

One of the victims stated he spent a week in a criminal’s den and saw hell while the criminals were at work.

He further said that the accused were giving them faeces as a regular food source. He was the most ruthless kidnapper he had ever come across, he said. Unfortunately for the suspect, the police were able to gather enough information to conduct a successful raid on his hideout.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that Isah would be buried on Saturday.

“The EFCC officer who was beaten to death by his superiors has been buried,” a source said on Sunday.

It was also learnt that the atmosphere was gloomy as Isah remains were lowered to the ground while the air was filled with pain and anguish, especially as his killers had not been brought to justice.

“The EFCC cadet was killed in Sokoto. The cadet was beaten to death by his seniors at the zonal headquarters for refusing to sign off on incomplete exhibits handed over to him,” a source had told SaharaReporters.

SaharaReporters had exclusively reported that the two officers who beat Isah to death were quietly dismissed.

But many of Isah’s colleagues had grumbled that the punishment for murder or manslaughter should be stiffer than mere dismissal.

“The two senior officers who killed the cadet have been dismissed but many people, including Isah’s colleagues, are grumbling that the dismissal is not adequate punishment since it is a case of clear murder,” the source had said.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwajaren on Sunday for an update were not successful as his mobile lines were switched off.

Police Arrest Seun kuti for slapping officer

When the chips are down, when the voices of your praise singers fade away, then it would be just you and the consequences of your actions.

The law is the law; and, in a sane clime, the law should be no respecter of persons. When individuals begin to glory in lawlessness and disregard for fairness and rule of law, then, anarchy is closer than expected.

That should not be the case with Nigeria.

Finally, Military Worried over Inauguration Because 2023 Elections were Rigged – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday claimed that the military authorities expressed worries over an alleged threat to the May 29 inauguration of a new administration because they knew that the February 25 presidential election was flawed and compromised.

National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, disclosed this yesterday in Abuja…..CONTINUE READING

The party stated that under normal circumstances, the military would not be concerned because democracy and change of government should be seen as a thing of joy and a cause for celebration.

The PDP also said that the bad treatment suffered by Nigerians at Egypt and Sudanese borders was an indication that no nation takes Nigeria seriously again.

“Typically, with the coming of a new government, there should be a new enthusiasm. Democracy should be about the people and therefore a celebration that a new government is about to come.

“I read in the newspapers that the military is expressing concern that some people will disrupt the swearing-in and inauguration of a new government on May 29. Again, it goes to say the election was not proper, and due processes were not followed.

“After all, what are the worries for? Democracy should be a celebration.

“When a new government is about to come or a democratic change in expectation of a new government, typically the environment will be bobbling with people looking forward to a new horizon and hope.

“In this election or do I say selection, you notice that there are palpable ominous signs in the country otherwise if the election has been okay in line with the laws and what democratic tendencies are all about in terms of change of government, what you will see is that people will be preparing to celebrate on that day.

“But what do you find? You find that the military expresses concern over those against the inauguration because they know that the processes that produced the incoming government, particularly the INEC are flawed, compromised, and corrupted as well as corrupted by the APC and its candidate. There is despondency all over the country.

“It is worrisome for the military to get concerned because a change of government should be a celebration, but it is becoming a mourning period for the country.

“That should capture the attention of Nigerians. Where do we go from here if an election has been so badly skewed by INEC, then that should worry all of us and the question is where do we go from here? Ologunagba queried.

On the implication of the flawed elections, he said, “You can see the effect of all these things because the respect a country gets is about the character of its leaders and its institutions. You see this from what happens to Nigerians in Sudan. Nigerians were kept at the borders between Sudan and Egypt for days.

“Why? It is a reflection of Nigeria as an unserious nation. Can you imagine the United States going through this in the western hemisphere?

“This election has so many dimensions that we as citizens must be concerned and it is an opportunity for the judiciary and the justices to do justice to issues before it. They witnessed the shenanigans called elections and we hope that they will do justice, according to the facts before them.

“And I believe that they will do justice to the issues before them because they are Nigerians and they witnessed what happened. If they did not witness it, they heard it or read it in the news. And of course, that cannot be democracy as envisaged.

“These are the issues that have to do with that election that bothers on the credibility of Nigeria, Nigerians as a nation, and the respect that the country will have in the international community,” he explained
