HISTORY OF OMU-ARAN (Migrated from Ile ife)

HISTORY OF OMU-ARAN

Omu-Aran town was founded five hundred years ago. The Omu-Aran community came into being as a result of outward movement from Ile-Ife.  These outward movements of people were in four phases, and the one relevant to the people of Omu-Aran was “The Private entrepreneurial post Oduduwa Migration”.

At one time in Ile-Ife, there was famine occasioned by prolong drought, and necessitated the consultation of Ifa Oracles by the divine Priests at that time in order to find solution to the famine problem.  It was the priests that pronounced Ile-Ife as been overcrowded and therefore prescribed emigration as the panacea.

The adoption of this recommendation led to the departure of princes and selected leaders from Ile-Ife to other places, they were given royal  blessings and symbol of authority.  Many Yoruba kingdoms of today arose as a result of this emigration.  From this emigration emerged the personality of an Ife Warrior by name Olomu-Aperan who became the progenitor of the Igbomina town of Omu-Aran in today’s Kwara State.

The existence of Omu-Aran could be traced back to a woman by name Omutoto who once live in Ilodo compound in ile-Ife.  She was one of the Oloris (royal wives) of the Oba Olofinaiye of Ile-Ife.  This woman bore no child, and therefore adopted some children of her relations.  She took great care of these children, and Olomu Aperan was one of them.
The mother of Olomu Aperan was a sister to Omutoto.  There were other children adopted by Omutoto, and one of them was Owa Ajibogun, the founder of Ijesha land.  They all grew up under Omutot.  The young Olomu was described as a mighty man of valour.  He was much respected, honoured and became known among Ijesha’s and Ife people as Olomu Aperan.  He was much respected, honoured and became known among Ijesha’s and Iffe people as Olomu Aperan.  He was a distinguished warrior an his successes at warfares  earned him several name such as Olomu Aperan, Olomu Aperin, Olomu Apeje and Olomu Aperin

…Pastor’s son, village head, herbalists members confess of killing, selling human parts

The Lagos State Police command has smashed a human parts syndicate led by a pastor’s son and a village head.

Already the police have taken into custody, seven persons, including the village head, the pastor’s son, a female herbalist, and a male herbalist allegedly involved in killing and selling of human parts for ritual purposes.

The syndicate was smashed by the Commissioner of Police Special Squad led by CSP Kehinde Oni.

The gang had in the past lured unsuspecting members of the public to Lagos State, where they killed  them in cold blood and dismembered their bodies for sales.

The arrested suspects, the police said, are: Ademola Akinlosotu ,33, (alias Agesin);  25-year-old Sunday Padonu (aka Osetura); Oba Yusuf Lawal, Muibat Adeshina (aka Iya Osun);  a herbalist, Kamoli Aderibigbe, and 42-year-old Baale Dada Travi, the community chief in Akarakumo, in Badagry, Lagos State.

A victim of the gang was a day-old -baby, who was given birth to at a trado-medical home, which belongs to one of the gang members, Kamoli Aderibigbe.

The son of a pastor, Agesin, who was said to be one of the leaders of the gang confessed to the crime and revealed that they sold fresh human head for between N45,000 and N50,000  while dried human heads sold for between N30,000  and N35, 000

He confessed to the police that “I got N248,000 as my share in the last job that I executed. I don’t send them to kill, but I buy human parts.

“I met Baale through Mama Osun. I have killed three people for them. I met Mama Osun when she was celebrating the Osun Festival, and she invited Baale, who brought his friend to Ogun festival.

“We all started talking. I told them what I do for a living, and they said we could work together. They introduced me to Osetura, the Ifa Priest who offered his house for the killings.

“He used to make divinations to know if there would be any problem when we kill anyone brought to the house.

“When I started, I do go to cemeteries to exhume corpses. People call me to place orders. The guy who introduced me to the business of exhuming bodies at cemeteries is dead.

“I was only exhuming bodies until Alfa (Wahab) asked me to start supplying fresh body parts. There was a time I went to Oke-Iho in Oyo State to lure a guy who was looking for a job to Lagos. I promised to get him a job on a farm.

“I called Balogun, a member of our gang, to inform him that I had a business.

I also called Alhaji (Wahab) who had requested the head, heart, and hands. I knew the guy’s name as Lukmon when I asked him to register his name,” Agesin said.

On how the gang killed the job seeker, simply identified as Lukmon, Agesin said: “On the day that he was killed, we sat down gisting, Osetura brought Kola nut, split it into four, and threw the pieces on the floor away from where he was. I moved and picked one. Then, Lukmon moved to pick one too. That was when Osetura pulled his gun and shot him in the back, so we dismembered him and took his vital parts that we need.”

PRESIDENT TINUBU RECEIVES LEADERS OF AFENIFERE, SAYS ADMINISTRATION IS RESOLUTE IN ACHIEVING ECONOMIC SECURITY IN A FAIR AND EQUITABLE SYSTEM FOR ALL NIGERIANS

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT TINUBU RECEIVES LEADERS OF AFENIFERE, SAYS ADMINISTRATION IS RESOLUTE IN ACHIEVING ECONOMIC SECURITY IN A FAIR AND EQUITABLE SYSTEM FOR ALL NIGERIANS

President Bola Tinubu says his administration remains undeterred in its pursuit of comprehensive economic security for the country while addressing foundational challenges and creating a fair and equitable system in which all Nigerians can thrive.

Speaking when he received leaders of Afenifere, the respected Yoruba Socio-Cultural Organization, at the State House in Abuja, on Wednesday, the President said his administration is re-engineering Nigeria’s finances and seeking to boost the purchasing power of citizens, and spread prosperity down the line, by instituting a credit system where the element of cash is not an impediment to a significantly enhanced standard of living for all citizens.

He said Nigeria must secure itself economically first before it can achieve any of its more sophisticated objectives.

‘’We are committed to the economic survival of our country. To re-engineer the finances of our country, we must start in earnest. So first, retool, revamp the economic opportunities available, and resolve to continue taking the firm and steady baby steps that are necessary.

‘’Education is a strong weapon against poverty. To empower the people, we must invest in the future of our youths. We have seen the problems parents face in training their children in school; it is the reason why we established the National Student Loan Programme, which is taking off well.

‘’We are equally examining what to do with the high degree of unemployment. We must help vulnerable people by providing social security. We are looking at how to provide allowances for the unemployed, and we are developing ways to boost the purchasing power of citizens with the Consumer Credit Scheme. If we remove the cash upfront element to buy a car or a house, we will reduce the propensity for fraud and corruption across the land,’’ President Tinubu said.

Speaking on security, the President declared that those who threaten the sovereignty of Nigeria would pay a heavy price.

‘’I am irrevocably committed to the unity of Nigeria and constitutional democracy. Constitutional democracy is reflected greatly here since we assumed office. What we face now is the challenge of terrorism. Security of life and property is very necessary for development. I can tell you we are achieving success. We have degraded terrorism to a level that they cannot threaten the sovereignty of Nigeria any longer.

‘’Banditry and kidnapping will be defeated. And there is no payment of ransom whatsoever. We are taking the battle to them. We are getting results more rapidly than before. We are working hard on intelligence gathering. Those who think they can threaten the sovereignty of Nigeria will have themselves to blame. They have a price to pay. And we are not going to relent,’’ the President affirmed.

The President thanked the esteemed delegation for their prayers and support, assuring them that he would not relent in his resolve to advance Nigeria.

‘’God bless Nigeria. God bless our unity; our diversity must bring prosperity for all for the sake of Nigeria,’’ President Tinubu concluded.

Earlier in his remarks, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olu Falae commended the President for his courageous decisions and for the rehabilitation of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos, as well as other critical ongoing projects.

He urged the President not to relent in ensuring fairness and equity for all Nigerians while noting the importance of a constitutional amendment to devolve more powers to the states.

‘’We are delighted about what you are doing for our country, and we assure you of our continued support. We thank you for your visit to Akure in February 2024, and we believe it is right and proper to reciprocate your kind gesture. We appreciate this relationship, and we need to make it work in the interest of Nigeria.

‘’Mr. President, you are the leader of Nigeria now and the most important political figure in Africa. We expect you, in view of your legacy and pedigree, to lead our country with knowledge, courage, and integrity. We have no doubt that your tenure will mark a turning point in the history of our country. Under your leadership, Nigeria will be repositioned.

‘’We will stand by you as you make all efforts to change the Nigeria story for the better. Be assured Afenifere will not abandon you in fair or foul weather. As long as you remain faithful to the principles of fairness, integrity, and courage that is expected of you as the leader of Nigeria, we will stand by you,’’ Oba Falae said.

The delegation was led by Pa Reuben Fasoranti, leader of Afenifere; Oba Falae, alongside other eminent citizens.

United Nations, ECOWAS recognise Yoruba Nation – Arrested agitator says as police parade those who invaded Oyo Secretariat

United Nations, ECOWAS recognise Yoruba Nation – Arrested agitator says as police parade those who invaded Oyo Secretariat

Abiola-Onitiri
One of Yoruba Nation agitators arrested when they invaded the Oyo State Government Secretariat Ibadan, on Saturday remained adamant on Monday when the police paraded them.

He said he had no regret for his action and that the action was not treasonable.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the suspect, whose name was not given, argued that the action of the agitators was legal and that their sponsors had documents stating that the UN and ECOWAS had given recognition to Yoruba nation’s existence.

Another suspect said the agitators were promised jobs and good conditions of living if Yoruba nation became a reality.

A statement by the Yoruba Nation group,  Emeritus Prof. Adebanji Akintoye, had, however,  said that the Democratic Republic of the Yoruba, a group under Mrs. Dupe Onitiri-Abiola, which claimed responsibility for the attack, had no connection with the Yoruba Nation organisation in any way.

But the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Adebola Hamzat, paraded 21 of the agitators arrested before newsmen in Ibadan on Monday.

The Oyo State Police Command Police in Oyo State are on the trail of sponsors of Yoruba nation agitators who invaded government secretariat in Ibadan on Saturday.

The agitators invaded the Oyo State House of Assembly complex located inside the secretariat and hoisted their flag there in an attempt to take over the assembly

According to the police boss, some of those arrested had been listing the names of their sponsors and that police had visited some locations within Oyo State where some incriminating items were recovered.

Hamzat recalled that a member of Amotekun Corps (the security network of states in the Southwest) was injured during the invasion just as one of the agitators who resisted arrest got injured in a gun duel with the police.

He stressed that police were not aware of any death during the incident.

“On Saturday, at about 8:55 a.m., information was received that some men, dressed in military-like camouflage and armed with pump action semi-automatic rifles were sighted on motorcycles around Olomi and moving into Ibadan.

“At about 9:15 a.m., the hoodlums, later known as Yoruba Nation Agitation Group, were trailed to the State Secretariat and to the premises of the governor’s office.

“They hoisted their flag at the House of Assembly, proclaiming the creation of a `Democratic Republic of the Yoruba.

“With police reinforcement, the miscreants were warned to disperse. The agitators turned violent and opened fire on the police and a detachment of Amotekun Corps present,’’ Hamzat said.

He said the police responded and were joined by operatives of other security agencies who suppressed the treason.

The police commissioner also told newsmen that five pump action semi-automatic rifles and two wooden double barrel guns and other exhibits were recovered from the agitators.

Also recovered were two jackets, 30 pieces of torch lights, 49 bells, five horse whips, seven pieces of walkie-talkies and accessories, four generators, 72 pairs of camouflage uniforms and 405 live cartridges.

Hamzat described the action of the suspects as criminal, unpatriotic and a clear case of treasonable felony and terrorism to be meted with adequate sanctions through purposeful prosecutions.

He assured that the police would remain steadfast in the protection of lives and property.

“The continued existence of Nigeria as a sovereign indivisible entity is a task that must be accomplished.

“The labours of our heroes past shall never be in vain. Police in Oyo State will be unrelenting in ensuring the continued united corporate existence of Nigeria as a country,’’ Hamzat stressed.

Brief history of CSMS worldwide and names of BABA ALADURA till date

Brief history of CSMS worldwide and names of BABA ALADURA till date

THE ARRIVAL OF MOVEMENT CHURCH
Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church is a branch of the main body of Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S). The beginning of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church was done by devotees who believed that “JAH-JEHOVAH” himself established the church through Moses Orimolade Tunolase and that they must remain loyal to his ideas and principles of worship as emphasized in the Bible. The advocate to remain far away from controversies, disputes and breakaway characterized by splinter groups which hindered the progress of C&S led to the formation of the Movement Church in November, 1927. A group of people comprising of Late N.E. Coker, S.A. Adekoya, S.O. Kalejaiye, E.O. Ajayi, D.A. Aina, J.T. Agboola and C.A. Shofarasin started worshipping at a residence belonging to one Mrs. Adebiyi (known then as “Mama Ondo”) at Ibadan Street in Kaduna.
Members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church on transfer to Jos, Minna, Zaria, Kano and other towns in the North established branches there. Elder N.E. Coker became the first General Overseer (Baba Aladura) of the Holy Order of CSMC of Northern Nigeria.
It was at the meeting held on the 11th November, 1941 that Kaduna was pronounced as the Headquarter of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church of Northern Nigeria. The constitution further stated that Kaduna shall be the headquarters and the seat of the spiritual father who shall be the administrative head of the church.
CSMC foundation is based on six basic principles namely:
(a) Bible Study
(b) Interpreting/Explaining the inspired word of God
(c) Healing through the Word
(d) Biblical Fasting and Effective Intercession Prayer
(e) Regular Church Attendance
(f) Love to our Neighbors and the Nation.
With the civil strife of 1966, the Northern Conference as it was then known spread to the South-West. Consequently, branches were set up in Kwara, Lagos, Ibadan, Osogbo, Ogbomoso, Ile-Ife, Benin-City, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Asaba, warri and a host of other towns. The Church has improved the drive for membership and presently, for administration convenience, there are Districts across Nigeria and Oversees.
The CSMC has spread overseas – arriving London in 1965, USA in 1976, Italy in 1981 and the Western Germany in 1987.
