NLC reveals that Tinubu gave each legislator more than N100 million in a nation when Nigerians are suffering

NLC reveals that Tinubu gave each legislator more than N100 million in a nation when Nigerians are suffering.

The Nigeria Labour Congress has argued that the so-called palliatives provided by the government of President Bola Tinubu are embarrassing to Nigerians because each legislator received N100 million while hundreds of millions of people in each local government struggle to get by on a few bags of rice.

On Tuesday, the NLC announced that if their demands were not met by the Federal Government by the end of a 21-day deadline that will soon expire, they would go on an indefinite strike.

The workers union, according to Sahara Reporters, asserted that the strike was essential since the federal government had not provided assistance for the issues that Nigerians were experiencing as a result of the withdrawal of fuel subsidies.

According to Mr. Christopher Onyeka, the National Assistant General Secretary of the NLC, the FG was irresponsible to give a bag of food to twelve individuals while purportedly giving each member of the National Assembly N100 million in palliative care. The Assistant General Secretary asserted that the palliative being offered was insufficient and insulting to Nigerians.

Can you perceive the insult in the fact that a ward would share a sack of rice and the administration refers to that as a palliative, he bemoaned? The government handed lawmakers N70 billion, and each legislator received more than N100 million in a nation when Nigerians are suffering. This is an insult to Nigerians.

“The FG is purchasing homes and automobiles worth over N100 million for each individual, and Nigerians are remaining silent as if this is a routine occurrence. Nigerians are urged by NLC to work together since they cannot accomplish this on their own.

People should show up when the NLC calls for action because it would take a group effort to get the government to heed Nigerians’ wishes and interests
