Mbaise Policy Roundtable 2025: Charts New Paths For Social, Economic Advancement Of The Mbaise People.

Mbaise becoming an agriculture and technology hub in Africa… On getting at the venue, the arrangements were meticulously handled, with banners, chairs, and tables set up for smooth operations for MPR, 2025.
The Mbaise Policy Roundtable (MPR) Annual Global Summit held on 2 January 2025, charts new paths for social and economic advancement of the Mbaise Nation. 
With the theme: “From Farm to Fortune, Tech to Cash: Leveraging on Acquired Agriculture and Digital Skills in the Mbaise Community for Financial Success”.
The 2025 MPR summit saw the crème de la crème of Mbaise and other well meaning Nigerians gathered for the high-profile annual event to set the ball rolling towards making Mbaise a significant agriculture and technology hub.
Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha alongside other prominent persons have proffered solutions to the dearth of arable land in the state. He said this during the 2025 Mbaise Policy Roundtable (MPR) Annual Global Summit held at Ahiara, Ahiazu Mbaise local government area. 
The event started with a resounding success wellness check and outreach program which brought free medical services to all the participants. The outreach catered to overflow participants, offering vital health services that left smiles on the faces of attendees. It was a memorable event seeing the joy put on the faces of the people of being provided with free medical services.
The outreach diagnosed and treated various health conditions includes; Hypertension cases, Diabetes cases, Urinary Tract Infections cases. 
One notably hypertensive patient who was unaware of his condition, received immediate treatment and was placed under follow-up care. Medications were dispensed for all necessary cases, and two patients were referred for further medical attention.
Followed by the tea break which provided much-needed refreshment, ensuring all participants remained energized to the much awaited MPR yearly event.
Ihedioha who spoke on the theme: “From Farm to Fortune, Tech to Cash: Leveraging Acquired Agriculture and Digital Skills for Financial Success and Development of Mbaise” advised farmers in the three LGAs in Mbaise and Imo to farm in clusters, conduct soil tests to ascertain the best crops for each soil type, and collectively fight challenges, while remaining disciplined, self-reliant and patient.
“We have a big problem of land availability for farming, which will take us time to deal with, but we must remain committed to touching the lives of the downtrodden through communal efforts, such as farming.
“The sole responsibility of a government is the welfare of the people, and that welfare is embedded in the policies and programmes of the government. I will enjoin you to take part in successful ventures and be productive, accept that you want to be a successful farmer and take the necessary steps to achieve that by being dedicated and committed, “ Ihedioha said.
Earlier in his remarks, MPR Chairman, Prof. Eddy Oparaoji, said the programme was anchored on appraising interventions of MPR and its success stories.
Oparaoji described the MPR as a “sustainable programme that is making tremendous impact in the development of Mbaise in the areas of agriculture and allied businesses”.
He therefore urged participants at the summit to endeavour to acquire vocational skills, especially in agriculture, to make ends meet, no matter their level of education.
Speaking, Mr Joe Anosikeh, the president-general of Ezuruezu Mbaise, a sociocultural group of the Mbaise people, lauded the empowerment initiative of the annual summit.
PG Anosike, a surveyor, charged participants to embrace Information Communication Technology and agribusiness, among other ventures, to succeed.
Speaking, Ms. Ngozi Okechukwu an agribusiness expert, spoke on agribusiness value chain development and accessing farmers’ resources.
She identified finance, marketing, adequate infrastructure, and sound policies as key to sustainable individual and collective prosperity. 
The high point of the event was the attendance of the active participation of local farmers, IT Google Scholarship recipients, and members of the community. 
Meanwhile, the successfully hosting of the 2025 MPR was a collective effort of the MPR Summit planning committee, the sponsors, the donors and the volunteers. Some of key sponsors and supporters includes; AUF Google Scholarship, Mater Farm, Array Farm, Mbaise farmers etc.
While some of the medical equipments and medications were donated by several healthcare professionals, they are;  Dr. Reubie Eke, Dr. Promise Okafor, Chief Frank Ogaziri, while other healthcare professionals and volunteers were led by Dr. Vitalis Ojiegbe, Dr. Chijike Ndukwu, Dr. Tobechi Nwachukwu and Dr. Lawrence Osondu. 
In her closing remarks, Dr. Tobechi Nnabugwu Nwachukwu expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone. She said, “This wellness outreach was a testament to the power of unity and commitment. We extend our thanks to AUF Google Scholarship, Mater farm, Array farm, Mbaise farmers, IT Google Scholarship program Graduants, guests and Mbaise Policy Roundtable for this mission, and their utmost support to ensuring that the wellness checks/out reach was a great success. We most importantly owe eternal gratitude to all our sponsors and donors for their enormous generosity which made this 2025 wellness checks/outreach possible and a great success. May God grant us all the willingness, commitment, and dedication to continue to reach out to our people back home. 
“We are deeply thankful to everyone who contributed to this mission. May we continue to reach out to our community and make the world a better place.” 
According to her, she said, “The MPR team looks forward to an even larger outreach in the future, with plans to expand the scope and impact of their services.
For now, the MPR Wellness Outreach 2025 remains a shining example of compassion and dedication, reminding us all of the power of community-driven initiatives, she noted”.
ABOUT MPR:  is a non-governmental organization, whose purpose is to liaise, partner, and/or collaborate with international entities, the Imo State Government and agencies, and the private sector to produce and advance policies that will fast track Mbaise and Imo State development.
