Cost of International Passport in Nigeria (2023)
The Nigerian International Passport (e-passport) serves as the primary document confirming Nigerian citizenship. It’s an essential means of identification and crucial for international travel. The Nigerian Immigration Service is responsible for processing international passports.

Nigerian International Passport Pricing

In 2019, the Nigeria Immigration Service announced that the registration and issuance of new international passports would cost N70,000. Issuance began on Monday, March 4, 2019.

The updated international passport offers several benefits:

Validity for up to 10 years
Self-tracking for visa applications
Enhanced durability with polycarbonate technology
Weather-resistant
Current official Nigerian international passport prices, based on the number of pages and validity period, are as follows:

64-page Nigeria International Passport (10 years validity) – N70,000
64-page Nigeria International Passport (5 years validity) – N35,000
32-page Nigeria International Passport (5 years validity) – N25,000

Regrettably, obtaining an international passport at the official prices is nearly impossible for most Nigerians. They currently pay the following unofficial rates:

64-page Nigeria International Passport (10 years validity) – N150,000 to N250,000
64-page Nigeria International Passport (5 years validity) – N80,000 to N150,000
32-page Nigeria International Passport (5 years validity) – N60,000 to N100,000
Several factors influence the unofficial price paid for a passport, including location, personal connections, and urgency for processing and pickup.
