FIFA U-17: Mali Thrash Argentina 3-0 To Clinch Bronze Medal

The FIFA Under-17 World Cup bronze was won by the Mali national team. Surprisingly, the African squad defeated Argentina 3 – 0 in the match for third place.

In the first half, the “Eagles” scored twice against their more well-known rivals.

Mamadou Doumbia and Ibrahim Diarra both made accurate shots.

The lead was then increased early in the second half by Hamidou Makalou.

Argentina was left empty-handed in the World Cup after failing to mount a counterattack.

France defeated Mali’s national team 2-1in the semifinal of the competition.

The “Eagles” defeated Morocco 1-0 in the quarterfinals and thrashed Mexico’s squad 5-0 in the round of 16.

After defeating Brazil’s team 3-0 and Venezuela’s team 5-0 in the playoffs, the “White and Blues” lost to Germany in the semifinals 4-3 in penalties.

It’s notable since this is the first-ever major victory for the U-17 Mali national team in history.

The squad had won the African Cup of Nations twice, in 2015 and 2017, before this accomplishment.

The World Cup final, which will pit Germany against France to determine the champion of the competition, is set for December 2.
