INDIVIDUALS WHO APPARENTLY HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN ENUGU STATE APC WINNING ANY ELECTION BUT CAN ONLY THINK OF REPLACING APC ENUGU STATE EXCO WITH A CARETAKER CHAIRMAN:

1. Ken Nnamani.
2. Geoffrey Onyeama.
3. Sullivan Chime.
4. Onyemuche Nnamani.
5. JOJ Okoloagu.
6. Ayogu Eze.
7. Gbazuagu Nweke Gbazuagu.
8. Eugene Odo.
9. Ifeanyi Nwoga.
10. Osita Okechukwu.
11. VinMartin Obiora Ilo.
12. Joe Mmamel.
13. Chris Ugwu.
14. Ginika Tor.

My immediate impression on seeing this list of 14 persons is that it is a list of strange bedfellows, which includes individuals with little or nothing in common but forced into a makeshift camp in pursuit of some personal interests.

I can only pass comments on the group based on what their petition contains, but it is bewildering to me to see persons who always wanted APC Enugu State to win elections with persons who have never wanted APC Enugu State to win any election.

Since the group has dismissed any hope of APC Enugu State winning any election, the same position their leaders such as Ken Nnamani, Geoffrey Onyeama and Osita Okechukwu held in 2019, it is rather odd for them to be talking about giving the 2023 presidential candidate the "mandatory 25%" of the votes cast in our state.

They said the same thing in 2019 and should be reminded of the results from their various polling units in spite of the millions of naira of campaign/election money that each of them had at their disposal. Why preach the same fake gospel again?

Like I said, I find it difficult to lump the habitual offenders among them with the majority of them who somehow have found themselves in company of individuals who won't work for electoral victories of Enugu State APC and have made it their singular obsession to demarket our state party and candidates at every turn.

The question on many discerning lips is what people who don't believe that their party can win elections are still doing in the same party. Is the sole purpose of existence of a political party not to win elections, participate in governance and implement the party's manifesto?

A good number of the names on this list of petitioners are known to me, some of them I can even refer to as my personal friends. I cannot understand why they are on the list, and I must implore them to withdraw from that petition that appears to be sponsored by APC's natural foes.

We know the habitual and unrepentant anti-party activists in Enugu State APC. Those ones can only do what they are doing now. Putting one of their own as caretaker chairman will hand 2023 victories (including presidential victory) to their non-APC sponsors.

The National Secretariat of APC should not just ignore them but should reprimand them publicly for attempting to distract the hardworking and selfless current leadership of APC Enugu State.

Current leadership of our state party is determined and focused on not just achieving our first electoral victory in 2023 but in winning Government House, Enugu. Despite the challenge of Peter Obi's LP across Nigeria, we are also confident of over 25% of the votes cast in Enugu State for APC in the presidential election - with or without some of the offensive petitioners.
