Why petrol station owner killed wife, self in Akure
Some details have emerged as to why a petrol station owner, Mr. Sesan Adelabu, committed suicide after killing his wife, Bola.
In the ugly incident at Alagbaka area of Akure, the Ondo State capital, Adelabu had committed suicide by drinking a deadly insecticide known as Sniper after hacking his wife to death with a machete.
Both of them were found dead by the security details attached to the man at their Alagbaka residence in Akure, the state capital.
The late Adelabu was found dead inside the toilet while his wife was found with machete cuts on her body inside their room.
Some close sources said the late Adelabu committed the act over issues that bordered on infidelity
Already, Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Abayomi Oladipo, has ordered the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case.
Spokesman for the Ondo State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, a Superintendent of Police (SP), said it was the couple’s child that helped the security detail to see their corpses.
Odunlami-Omisanya said: “The child, around 6pm, was asking about his father because he was not picking his calls. The policeman found him face down and lifeless in the toilet while his wife’s body was found on the bed with multiple cuts suspected to be machete cuts on her head and face.
“An empty container of Sniper was also found at the-scene.
“Investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances leading to the unfortunate incident and scene cordoned off to enable police do the needful please.”
