Soludo Decries Murder of Aguleri President General, Others
The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has vehemently condemned the brutal murder of Mr. Ifeanyi Iloakasia, President General of Aguleri community and a legal practitioner, who was tragically attacked alongside his client on May 15, 2025, near the Agulu-Nanka boundary in Anambra State.
This condemnation was conveyed through an official statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Aburime.
Following thorough briefing on the incident, Governor Soludo strongly disapproved the murder, extending sincere condolences to the family, friends of the late Barrister Iloakasia, and the Aguleri community, who have been profoundly affected by the loss of a stalwart peace advocate.
Governor Soludo assured that the state government is actively addressing the incident, collaborating closely with security agencies to swiftly identify and bring the perpetrators to justice, thereby allaying the concerns it has understandably raised.
In a related development, Governor Soludo acknowledged and commended the bravery of state security operatives who foiled an attack on an Isuofia security checkpoint on May 15, 2025. While expressing regret over the sacrifice of one of the officers, he reassured the public that the situation is now under control, with enhanced security measures in place to protect communities.
The governor thereby extended his deepest sympathy to all impacted by these unfortunate events, reiterating his steadfast resolve to uphold and sustain the state's existing peace and security.
He also exhorted residents to remain watchful and sustain their full cooperation with security agencies in the ongoing endeavour to rid Anambra State of the scourge of violence.
