Legal practitioner and political analyst Kenneth Okonkwo has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s political behavior, claiming that the president’s only consistent trait is his drive for authority and wealth.

In an interview with Channels TV, Okonkwo said Tinubu had supported Babatunde Fashola to become the Governor of Lagos State. However, tensions later arose between the two when Fashola began developing Lagos, with money being the central issue.

Okonkwo further mentioned former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, saying he faced similar conflicts as Fashola. He added that his insight comes from his time as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said: “Tinubu installed Fashola in office, but they eventually clashed. Fashola was the first to initiate Lagos’ modernization, and the problem was over money. Ambode experienced the same, and I witnessed it because I was part of the APC. From my perspective, Tinubu has only been consistent in seeking power and money.”
