Dear Imolites and fellow Nigerians,
On this auspicious occasion of Democracy Day, I extend my warm greetings to every citizen of the country, and my beloved brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers in Imo state. It is a day to celebrate our hard-won democracy and reaffirm our commitment to a brighter future.
Democracy has given us the power to choose our leaders and shape our future. However, we have struggled as a country to reflect the values of true democracy. The 2023 Presidential election was a pointer to the fact that we are not yet at our desired heights as a democratic nation. However, our hopes remain high, and our eyes are fixed on the judiciary as the last hope of the common man. We would remain peaceful and law-abiding citizens as we await the outcome of the judicial process.
Regardless of the highs and lows in our journey as a democratic nation, let us take a moment to appreciate the progress we have made and the sacrifices of our Statesmen who fought to end military rule. We pledge to continue to defend our hard-fought democracy and to contribute our quota towards its improvement for a better Imo state and Nigeria at large.
As a governorship candidate under AA, I am committed to upholding the principles of democracy and serving you with utmost dedication. Together, we can work towards a brighter future for our beloved Imo State.
On this day, let us also remember that democracy is not just about elections, but also about the principles of freedom, equality, fairness, and justice that we must uphold at all times. It is a day to reflect on our accomplishments and renew our commitment to building a better tomorrow for ourselves and our children.
We must work together to strengthen our democratic institutions and ensure that the dividends of democracy are being delivered to the people. I urge you all to exercise your democratic rights and participate fully in the upcoming governorship elections in Imo state and other elections to come.
We must never give up on our democracy. The journey to true democracy has only just begun.
Happy Democracy Day to everyone!
