C&S Church Exonerate Awode, Fabunmi Over Indictment On Fraudulent Activities

Contrary to reports on the Guardian Newspaper and its Online Medium dated 9th June, 2023, indicting Emmanuel Awode and Olusegun Fabunmi of using the correspondence of the Church, Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Amazing Grace District Headquarters, Iyana Ipaja for fraudulent activities have been debunked.

The District secretary of the Church, Sp/Ap/Past Owolabi Abioye at a Press Briefing On Monday, 12th June, 2023, debunked the report saying it was misleading and misinformation from the Reporter.

Making clarifications, he said at no time was Awode and Fabunmi a member of the Church, neither did they leave the Church alongside Benson Awonusi, Folusho Ganiyu Jinadu, Remi Babalola, Gafaru Ashiru, Akinlaja Olajuwon, Shola Agesin and Yemi Ogunsanya, who were part of the Elders that left the Church unceremoniously over a year ago after a leadership tussle.


Owolabi stated that it was necessary to debunk the misleading reportage and set the record straight to the general public.

He however said that he sincerely apologized to the duo of Awode and Fabunmi for any inconveniences the report might have caused them.

“I need to tender my unreserved apologies to Emmanuel Awode and Olusegun Fabunmi on behalf of the Church for the reportage on the Guardian Newspaper, as the reportorial do not reflect the position of the Church”.

Speaking further, Owolabi reiterated the commitment of the Church in propagating the gospel for the benefit of mankind.

He however quashed insinuations and speculations that the Church and its branches around the world are not in operation, stressing that the branches are still functioning effectively.
