Wike Replies Edwin Clark: ‘I Had Every Power To Stop Fubara From Becoming Rivers Gov’

Wike Replies Edwin Clark: ‘I Had Every Power To Stop Fubara From Becoming Rivers Gov’

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has faulted claims that he planned to have the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, impeached so he could install a fellow Ikwerre person as governor of the state.

Wike, who spoke for the first time since the impeachment plot became public, said he had the power to stop Fubara from becoming governor if he didn’t want him to succeed him.

The reason for the breakdown of Fubara and Wike’s political relationship is still sketchy but Wike said on Tuesday that the issues surrounding the planned impeachment had nothing to do with ethnicity, but were a party affair.

Wike’s reaction comes after Chief Edwin Clark, leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), and the Ijaw National Congress (INC) accused him of being behind the impeachment plot.

Clark had called on President Bola Tinubu to call Wike to order, while the INC had warned that the Ijaw nation would act decisively and appropriately if Fubara was impeached.

Wike, however, said the party was looking into the matter and would resolve it.

He said: “In politics, there are a lot of internal wranglings. That does not mean that in those internal wranglings, they would not settle within their families.

“But to come out to say ‘oh, they want to do this against Ijaw people,” that is very wrong.

“I was the instrument. I had every power then to say this is where this (the governorship position) is going. So, when things are wrong, you ask questions. It is a party affair and parties know how they resolve their (issues). It is not an ethnic affair. Our party is looking into it, that is all I will say. Every politician has his own interest.”

BREAKING: 70 Decomposed Bodies, Skeletons Discovered In Popular Market

BREAKING: 70 Decomposed Bodies, Skeletons Discovered In Popular Market

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has revealed the gruesome discovery of 70 decomposing bodies and skeletons in forests around a cattle market in Umunneochi Local Government Area of the state. He said the market was also a hotspot for ransom payments to kidnappers.Otti made this revelation on Sunday during his monthly media chat in Umuahia, the state capital. He said security operatives raided the forests near the Lokpanta Cattle Market on the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway and found 20 headless corpses and 50 other bodies, as well as uncountable skeletons of men, women and children.

He said his administration was determined to rid the state of criminals and protect the lives of Abia citizens and visitors. He said the decision to make the cattle market a daily market was not aimed at any ethnic group, but to improve the security situation of the market and its environs.

He quoted his words as follows: "We have taken a stand to provide adequate security to Abia citizens and visitors because no government can succeed in the face of insecurity. This government will not get involved in supporting criminals or allow them to occupy any part of the state.

"When we decided to occupy the Lokpanta cattle market in Umunneochi Local Government Area of the state, we discovered 50 dead bodies, 20 headless dead bodies, men, women and children and uncountable skeletons. We also discovered that ransoms paid to kidnappers were usually dropped close to the market.

"But it was unfortunate that some people misinterpreted our action to mean that we asked the Northerners trading in the market to leave the state, but after our interactions with leaders of the Northern community, we told them that anyone who is not in support of the moves we are making to secure the state must be a criminal, they saw reasons with us and quickly reversed the quit notice they issued to Igbos in the North.

"That's why we have decided to make the market a daily market, people can go to the market and do their business and go home at the end of the day. The market will not be only a cattle market again, but it will have other sections for other goods like every other market.

"Those who live inside the market will now live among other people in the state outside the market."

The governor also said his administration was committed to using public funds to provide quality infrastructure for its residents. He urged those who had complaints about their salary payments to submit their petitions to the office of the Account General of the state for prompt action.

NIGERIA NEWSWar Lies Ahead Of Tinubu Despite Supreme Court Victory – Uzor-Kalu

NIGERIA NEWSWar Lies Ahead Of Tinubu Despite Supreme Court Victory – Uzor-Kalu

Former chief of staff to an erstwhile governor in Abia State, Mascot Uzor-Kalu, has said despite President Bola Tinubu‘s victory in the legal battle regarding the outcome of the 2023 election, he must work hard to overcome daunting challenges and war ahead of him.
Naija News reports that Uzor-Kalu asserted this in a statement while speaking on the Supreme Court verdict that affirmed Tinubu’s victory and dismissed the petitions of Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his counterpart Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He said Atiku and Peter Obi’s loss is not surprising as they were more interested in theatrical and media trials instead of focusing on proving their cases beyond reasonable doubt.

According to the politician, the fact that Tinubu won the election with 38 per cent, and with 62 per cent rejecting him at the poll, makes the war ahead of him challenging.

He said the war has commenced, and Tinubu’s effort to win should focus on how to make the economy better and unite the nation, which has been divided by the presidential election.

Uzor-Kalu added that President Tinubu would win the war if he could win over a big chunk of the 62 per cent that voted against him in the next four years.

He said, “Nigeria’s democratic landscape has long been familiar with the extended legal disputes that follow each election cycle, with various litigation battles in the courtrooms. However, the 2023 presidential election that resulted in the emergence of Bola Tinubu as president brought a unique set of circumstances and legal wrangling from the opposition, which left me intrigued and, at times, astounded. What made this year’s post-election legal battle particularly captivating was the theatrical nature of the opposition’s claims.

“As I’ve previously noted in different discussions, opposition parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), along with their respective presidential candidates, seemed more interested in public spectacle than in presenting a solid case to challenge Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 polls. Instead of focusing on substantiating their claims in court beyond any reasonable doubt, they indulged in legal trivialities and media trials.

“Nevertheless, even though the president has secured victory in the legal battle, a broader war lies ahead of him. Where lies the war? The 2023 election, perhaps more than any in our electoral history, deeply divided our nation and exacerbated the country’s ethnic differences. Another challenging part of the war is the fact that he won the presidency with only 38% of the vote, indicating that 62 percent of voters did not endorse him. Essentially, it will be interesting to see how the president can, over the next four years, win over the 62 percent who did not support his presidency and possibly reduce this number below 50 percent.

“Without any doubt, the war has already commenced, but its outcome also depends on how the Tinubu’s administration addresses the nation’s dire economic situation. Prosecuting the war should begin with efforts to stabilize the declining value of the Naira in the volatile foreign exchange market, reduce the alarming unemployment rate through job creation, and address various other economic challenges confronting the country.

“While it is essential to acknowledge that the current administration is not solely responsible for the economic difficulties plaguing the nation, the president should recognize that even the 38 percent who supported him can turn against his administration if the economic situation deteriorates further and continues to burden the masses.”

BREAKING: Fubara Speaks On ‘Offence Committed’ To Warrant Impeachment

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State stated on Monday that he has not engaged in any wrongdoing that would justify his impeachment by the Rivers State House of Assembly.

“Let them come out and tell Rivers people the offence I have committed to warrant any impeachment,” the governor said while addressing his supporters at the Assembly Complex.

The governor, while assuring the state’s residents of receiving the benefits of democracy, mentioned that he will address the issue at the right moment.

“Let me assure the people of Rivers that I will continue to ensure that you get the dividends of democracy. At the appropriate time I will address the press,” he said.

A new crisis has gripped the Rivers Assembly amid speculation of a looming impeachment process against Fubara. On Monday, the House ousted its leader, Edison Ehie.

The House members, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule, issued an impeachment notice to Fubara before seeking safety as tear gas was deployed outside the Complex.

Speaking to his supporters who protested the situation outside the Assembly Complex, the governor asserted that he has not engaged in any actions warranting impeachment by the Assembly.

This development unfolded following a fire incident at the Assembly Complex on Sunday night. While it remains unclear if the fire is linked to the political conflict, rumors of a discord between Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike, now serving as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, have been circulating for some time.

SUPREME COURT VICTORY: OLAWEPO-HASHIM CONGRATULATES TINUBU, URGES HIM TO "NOW HIT THE GROUND FLYING"

PRESS RELEASE

SUPREME COURT VICTORY: OLAWEPO-HASHIM CONGRATULATES TINUBU, URGES HIM TO "NOW HIT THE GROUND FLYING"

A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC and a former Presidential Candidate, Mr. Gbenga Olawepo- Hashim has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the Supreme Court verdict which validated his victory in the February 25 presidential election, while also urging him to now face the job of "rescuing Nigerians from the daily grim realities they face, with more seriousness".

Both Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the Labour Party had urged the Apex court to dismiss and set aside the September 6 Judgment of PEPT, which affirmed the victory of President Tinubu.

But the seven-man panel led by Justice Inyang Okoro on Thursday, held that the appeal lacked merit and “is hereby dismissed."

In a press release in Abuja on Sunday, Olawepo-Hashim explained that "President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the  one with the democratic mandate, has more work to do with the economy hit by its worse inflation in over twenty years, and the Nation's currency devalued at 80% in four months of his administration at the unofficial market"

He added that "hitting the ground running now would not be enough as he now needs to fly when needed."

He stated that although "the legal challenges to the outcome of the 2023 Presidential election have come and gone  rounding up with the verdict of the Supreme Court on sundry appeals on the 26th of October 2023. I want to congratulate President Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) for a hard won victory."

He also  extended his commendation to the Waziri of Adamawa, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar (GCON), the Presidential Candidate of the PDP; Mr Peter Obi ,Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party respectively at the 2023 Presidential election.

According to him, "the dogged but civil challenges mounted by the duo after the election are important contributions to our democracy and would enrich our Jurisprudence."

"Both the winner and those whose petitions did not succeed at the courts must now commit themselves as leaders  to the important tasks of uniting the country, securing the nation and rescuing
the economy, and improving the welfare of her people.

The former Presidential Candidate also recalled that "before and after election, we had counselled severally that the Post -Buhari Administration must be a Government of National Unity akin to the post civil war cabinet of General Gowon, owing to the severe fracture of the polity and the horrendous damage to the economy."

According to him, "some people in their opinion after the election had dismissed the suggestion, arguing instead that what is needed is a government of "national competence". The country is now impatiently waiting to see the "competence" as the people's welfare take the turn for the worse."

He emphasized that at this critical juncture in the nation's history, "important national responsibilities cannot be a gift for yes boys and girls at moments of severe national crises such as we are currently in."

He also counselled that "the opposition party which divided its rank into three and half during the build up to the 2023 election, has a job to do if it must be relevant to Nigeria's immediate political future."

Olawepo-Hashim maintained that "Nigeria demands more seriousness from all political leaders as the grim realities that Nigerians confront daily is not the occasion for pettiness and shodiness."

BREAKING: On Eve of Supreme Court's Verdict, American 'Files' Motions in New Bid to Unseat Tinubu

BREAKING: On Eve of Supreme Court's Verdict, American 'Files' Motions in New Bid to Unseat Tinubu

The Supreme Court, the final arbiter of justice, will deliver a verdict in Nigeria's disputed presidential poll on Thursday,
The nation's main opposition parties described the results of the February 2023 election announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission as "manipulated"
Less than 24 hours to the close of the cases brought to Nigeria's Supreme Court by the opposition parties, new motions have allegedly surfaced in the USA
Legit.ng journalist Ridwan Adeola Yusuf has over 6-year-experience covering politics in Nigeria
Washington, USA - Amid Nigeria's disputed presidential election, Aaron Greenspan, an American citizen and founder of Plainsite, a US-based website, filed emergency motions on Wednesday, October 25, at a United States court.

This is according to Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu's special adviser on Information and Strategy, via a post on X (formerly Twitter).

'Greenspan, Atiku, opponents will fail': Onanuga
Onanuga said Greenspan is trying to "force" a judge, Beryl Howell, to reverse her ruling when she declined to order some US agencies to release documents on President Tinubu.

Legit.ng recalls that the US District Court for the District of Columbia declined an emergency application seeking to compel top US law enforcement agencies to hasten the release of confidential information on President Tinubu.

Howell refused the application on Monday, October 23, saying Greenspan did not meet the preconditions for granting his request.

However, on Wednesday, October 25, Onanuga took to social media to allege that Greenspan has not backed down.

According to the presidential aide, Greenspan filed two motions on Wednesday.

Onanuga wrote, with accompanying documents, allegedly by Greenspan:

"Today, the desperate Greenspan filed two motions. The first was a motion for judicial notice about the case he wants to represent before the court, two days after Judge Beryl A. Howell declined Greenspan’s request on the grounds that he failed to satisfy the relevant conditions for the grant of a motion for emergency hearing, which he filed on Monday.
"The second motion was titled:
PLAINTIFF’S MOTION FOR RECONSIDERATION PURSUANT TO FEDERAL RULE OF CIVIL PROCEDURE.
"The wordings reek of desperation that makes one wonder what business a Jewish American, who owns one obscure website in the United States, has in Nigeria’s affairs.
In his gambit to make the Washington judge reverse herself, Greenspan attached a discredited, fake story about Nigeria’s chief Justice, published by an online platform.
Then he prayed the court for the second time in 48 hours, to order the US agencies release President Tinubu’s documents to him.
“This Court need not hold a hearing to ensure that Defendants are held to their promise to produce documents by the “end of October.” With the end of October having arrived and with every day 24 hours closer to a final, binding decision by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, short of ordering the production of any documents already prepared for release, this Court should at least order Defendants to provide a Joint Status Report within 48 hours that explains their updated plan for producing responsive materials, and specifically whether any responsive materials are already redacted and ready for production”, he wrote.
"Mr Greenspan, you and your sponsors are surely not going to succeed in your desperate moves. You have tried, make sure your masters pay you."
Onanuga criticises Atiku, Obi
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that following the Greenspan twist to the battle to unseat Tinubu as Nigeria's president, Onanuga criticised Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 2023 election.

He also did not spare Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) flagbearer.

NIGERIA IS ONCE AGAIN AT A DANGEROUS PRECIPICE, THIS TIME BECAUSE OF CAPTURE OF THE COUNTRY BY A MAN WHO CLAIMS TO BE 'BOLA AHMED TINUBU'.

NIGERIA IS ONCE AGAIN AT A DANGEROUS PRECIPICE, THIS TIME BECAUSE OF CAPTURE OF THE COUNTRY BY A MAN WHO CLAIMS TO BE 'BOLA AHMED TINUBU'.

Nigeria derailed in 1966, leading to four years of genocide and decades of failed attempts to put the country back on track.

The most recent run of attempts to fix Nigeria started in 1998, with Abdulsalam Abubakar's programme of transition from military regime to civilian administration.

Reading General Abubakar's body language correctly, that is that he would hand over to civilians following transition elections, Nigerians - including ourselves - embraced his positive vibes. We returned to Nigeria in 1998 with a political party of which I was National Chairman, National Development Party of Nigeria (NDPN).

Instead of going into the 1998/1999 elections with the 25 political parties registered to field candidates, including NDPN, Abubakar committed a blunder that brought about much of the confusion and derailment that has plagued Nigerian politics since 1998.

The mortal blunder is his whimsical and cavalier reduction of the number of duly registered parties, including our own (NDPN), from 25 to 2: PDP and APP. AD was added to the 2 due to pressure from the usually vociferous elements of the South-West. I was National Chairman of NDPN, a party we had founded in the United Kingdom in 1990, so I knew what went down then and since then.

Our having anything to do with PDP (where I was National Director of Campaigns in 1998 and a senatorial seat - Enugu West - aspirant in 1999), AD (where I was Enugu West senatorial candidate in 2001), APP/ANPP (where I was presidential aspirant in 2003), and APC now, is because of changing the established system upon which we returned to the country on 12th October 1998, after our party had been duly registered.

Otherwise, we would have been quite happy contesting for various elections on NDPN platform and developing it further.

Fast-forward to the period starting 29th May 2015, following 16 unbroken years of unremarkable PDP federal leadership of Nigeria. We did not see hope in Mohammadu Buhari civilian administration and settled for preparing to succeed him in 2019 or 2023.

South-East APC Integrity Group was established in June 2015 primarily to sanitize and grow APC in the South-East prelude to South-East APC Presidency Project 2023, which South-East APC Integrity Group birthed in January 2020.

By January 2020, we had helped to grow APC in the South-East where APC had been a fringe party and almost a joke. With massive growth of South-East APC over 2015-2020, we now believed that South-East APC could reach out to APC in the other 5 geopolitical zones to ask for their support of a credible South-East APC person for the party's presidential ticket in 2023.

Our search for a credible South-Easterner to project for the 2023 presidential ticket of APC met virtual brick wall. Some South-East APC individuals wanted to succeed Buhari, but all of them sheepishly believed that the ticket could only go to an uninterested or reluctant person that Buhari himself anointed. That was naive and ridiculous political thinking, and we repeatedly tried to persuade them otherwise.

Nothing we said could persuade presidential materials among South-East APC to commit to running. That was all we expected from them. We had watered everywhere in Nigeria and just needed a lucky person with average resources to harvest the waiting votes. We needed a credible person among them to assure us that he/she was irrevocably committed to vying for President on APC platform in 2023. If any of them had said that, that person would undoubtedly be President today.

For months and years, we waited as cowardly and gutless South-East APC individuals played hide-and-seek and vomitted rubbish as their idea of political wisdom. They who could not support South-East APC Presidency Project 2023 with N1 would spend N100 million each to buy expression of interest and nomination forms in the last minute before primary. We know that Ken Nnamani, Ogbonnaya Onu, Emeka Nwajiuba and David Umahi did.

N100 million of the person's money would not only have got him the APC ticket but also won him the presidency. We dismissed them immediately after the primary as men with money but no sense nor self-esteem nor real campaign strategy nor fighting spirit.

In February 2022 when no one from the South-East would declare to contest for the presidency on APC platform and when it was getting very late, I, Chinedu Jideofo-Ogbuagu, a previous presidential aspirant who had wanted to project someone else 20 years later because I lacked minimum capital needed this time, picked up the gauntlet. However, death of my elder brother on 10th April 2022 was the only thing that stopped my aspiration that was in full flight by that time.

Among the many things we said in the course of 8 years of advocating for a credible South-Easterner to succeed Buhari in 2023, we had said that a credible South-Easterner would become President whether on APC platform or any other serious platform, if the APC disappointed the geopolitical zone. With strong and effective national Project structures we had created, we had persuaded at least 80% of the Nigerian electorate to support a credible South-Easterner, we had got millions of new voters to register if only to vote for whoever we projected, and we were sure that our candidate would win with over 50 million votes.

With South-East APC effectively out of 2023 presidential election, an imposter bamboozled APC and took the APC presidential ticket. In the same manner of taking the APC presidential ticket, he also took the presidency by force. But for fake, fraudulent and criminal aspects of the man, we would have supported him for his audacity and courage. He possessed the fighting spirit that no one from the South-East had - except me.

Millions of the votes that Peter Obi received in the general election were from our advocacy. Our votes were divided; some to Obi, some to the imposter, and some to Atiku Abubakar.

We remain an integrity group, but party (APC) loyalty made some of our people to vote APC, some voted PDP while over half of our voters voted Obi of the Labour Party, and a credible South-Easterner.

We are not regionalists, but all considered, we knew that a credible South-Easterner as president stood the best chance of fixing Nigeria and leading her to First-World status. That was our driving patriotic motive and remains so.

Everyone knows that Obi won the 2023 presidential election. We don't need corrupt INEC officials and corrupt judges to tell us what we know. Nigeria is today once again standing at the precipice because INEC and judges, compromised by the imposter, have subverted the will of the people.

Nigerians must not accept subversion of their electoral will. Unless the people's mandate is recovered from the imposter and his accomplices, and the thieves are punished for endangering Nigeria, it should be clear to even the dumb, the blind and the dimwit that Nigeria must cease to exist as a country.

2023 presidential election must be the last act of impunity by rascals masquerading as politicians - in their rogue minds, even as leaders and statesmen.

An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ogbomoso has nullified the appointment of Pastor Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye as Soun of Ogbomoso.

The Oyo state government had in August 2023 announced Pastor Ghandi Olaoye as the new Soun.

According to TVC news, before this time, another aspirant for the position, Kabir Laoye, approached the court to challenge the eligibility of Ghandi.

Prince Kabir Olaoye who challenged Ghandi’s selection explained that there was a flaw in the selection process.

While delivering his judgment, Justice Adedokun announced that the appointment of King Laoye was illegal.

He also ordered the kingmakers to start a new selection process to elect a new Soun.

Nigeria’s Supreme Court considers appeal to overturn Tinubu’s February election victory

Nigeria’s Supreme Court considers appeal to overturn Tinubu’s February election victory

Nigeria’s Supreme Court commenced the appeal process on Monday, as an opposition candidate seeks to overturn a court’s decision that upheld President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the February elections.

After an extended period of deliberation, a court in September dismissed the applications by Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, which sought to annul Tinubu’s victory based on allegations of fraud and irregularities.

Abubakar, who came in second, filed an appeal, contending that the judiciary had made a “serious error” in its judgment.

The seven judges of the Supreme Court are anticipated to render their verdict in the weeks ahead regarding this latest challenge. The Supreme Court holds the ultimate authority in presidential election petitions.

In the February polls, nearly 25 million Nigerians cast their votes in an election that was generally peaceful but marred by counting delays and electronic result transfer failures.

The international community widely accepted the final results, which declared Tinubu as the winner with 37 percent of the vote.

In Nigeria, no legal challenge to a presidential election’s outcome has succeeded since the nation’s return to democracy in 1999.

BREAKING: Jega Opens Up After Reports He Said 2023 Election Was Rigged
Former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, has reacted to reports he h refuted claims that he stated the 2023 general elections were compromised. Reports had quoted Jega as making these comments during a Senate-organized retreat in Akwa Ibom State last week.

In a statement released on his behalf by Princess Hamman-Obels, his Senior Research Assistant and Director of The Electoral Hub, Jega clarified that such reports were inaccurate and did not represent his stance. He emphasized that his remarks at the Senate Retreat in Ikot Ipene, Akwa Ibom State, did not include any statement suggesting the compromise of the 2023 elections.

The initial reports had alleged that Jega criticized the appointment of unscrutinized individuals in positions of power, leading to compromised electoral integrity. However, Jega firmly denied making any comments regarding the integrity of the 2023 polls.

This rebuttal from Jega aims to rectify the misrepresentation in the media, clarifying his actual statements and reaffirming his position that he did not assert the compromise of the 2023 elections during the Senate retreat.

BREAKING: Supreme Court Receives Conflicting Letters From Chicago Varsity On Tinubu’s Certificate

BREAKING: Supreme Court Receives Conflicting Letters From Chicago Varsity On Tinubu’s Certificate
Justice Okoro said one of the letters is authenticating the President’s certificate and another discrediting it.

The Supreme Court disclosed on Monday, October 23, that it received two conflicting letters regarding the academic records of President Bola Tinubu from the Chicago State University (CSU).

The Chairman of the seven-member panel of the apex court, Justice John Okoro, stated this during the hearing of the application of the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, filed against the victory of President Bola Tinubu.

Justice Okoro said one of the letters is authenticating the President’s certificate and another discrediting it.

The lead justice of the panel, therefore, said criminal matters have to be proven beyond reasonable doubt.

“But in this case, there are two conflicting letters from the CSU – one authenticating the president’s certificate and another discrediting it. Which do we rely on?” he asked.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared President Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the February election, but his opponents went to court.

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal had struck out the appeals of Atiku and Peter Obi of the Labour Party, but they headed for the apex court, with Atiku asking to file extra evidence against Tinubu on alleged forgery.

Atiku had sought Tinubu’s academic record from Chicago State University so as to prove his allegation that the president submitted forged documents to INEC.

However, by the time the documents were released, the 180-day statutory period within which an election petition should be filed and determined had elapsed.

But Atiku asked the court to grant his appeal to tender fresh evidence, given the nature of the issue. Tinubu kicked against this, saying granting such would amount to abuse of the court process.

Atiku predicated his plea on the grounds that presenting forged documents by any candidate, especially by one for the highest office in the land, is a grave constitutional issue that must not be encouraged.

But Tinubu kicked the plea, arguing that the issue was a pre-election matter amongst others and subsequently prayed the court to deny the grant of the application.

While faulting Tinubu, Atiku submitted that issues of merit ought not to be determined or pronounced upon at the interlocutory stage.

The former vice president also pointed out that the presentation of a forged certificate disqualifies a candidate for all time, no matter when presented.

NEWSBreaking: Supreme Court Adjourns PDP, LP Appeals Challenging Tinubu’s Victory

Supreme Court Speaks On Presidential Tribunal Judges Withdrawing From Panel
The Supreme Court has adjourned the appeals challenging the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25 election.
Naija News recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the election, but Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) alongside Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) rejected the result and headed for the court.

The duo challenged the election result alongside the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate, but the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal struck out their appeals.

Unsatisfied with the PEPT judgement, the three political parties filed appeals at the Supreme Court, which heard the matter on Monday.

However, APM on Monday announced the withdrawal of its appeal during the proceedings at the apex court while PDP and LP continued with their cases.

The appellant’s lawyer, Chukwuma Majukwu Umeh, applied to withdraw it.

Following the withdrawal, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal for lack of merit.

In dismissing the appeal, members of the Supreme Court panel noted that it was a frivolous case because the apex court, in an earlier case of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) v. INEC and others, resolved the issue that Shettima was properly nominated.

The 7-member panel led by Justice John Okoro however adjourned the matter of the PDP and LP after the arguments of lawyers of the respective parties.

INEC Chairman knows he is not telling the truth about presidential election – Onaiyekan

INEC Chairman knows he is not telling the truth about presidential election – Onaiyekan

Former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, John Onaiyekan, has said that the Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, knows that he is telling lies about the February 25 presidential election.

The election produced the All Progressives Congress’ Bola Tinubu as President but the matter is now in the Supreme Court as the opposition are contesting the result.

After persistently claiming that the election was rigged in Tinubu’s favour, Onaiyekan again on Saturday bombed Yakubu, saying he had failed to admit that nothing went wrong with the poll.

Speaking to the media in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, he said he shed tears when he again heard the INEC boss defending the election.

“This is a place where noting works. We should refuse to accept this is a country where certificates are forged and it’s okay.  We should refuse to agree that this is where elections are rigged  and you say ‘Go to court’.

“I shed tears when I heard him say the election went well.  He knows he is not telling the truth. Whatever judges may decide at the end of the day the truth will make us free.”

Only God Can Remove Pres. TINUBU

Only God Can Remove Pres. TINUBU

Prophet JOSHUA IGINLA Tells ATIKU & PETER OBI

There is a video of Pastor Joshua Iginla  that is currently trending on social media. It is a video of his recent preaching where he advised Alhaji Atiku Abubakar that instead of wasting time on court cases, he should go back to the drawing board and re-organise his party towards the 2027 elections.

He said it is God that makes a man King and that there is a spiritual angle to Tinubu’s victory.

He said he was sleeping when God told him what would happen.

He said it is a prophecy.

Some of you don’t even understand who is a prophet, if you know who is a prophet, you will be humbled, I told you in my Prophecy for Nigeria that his Excellency our President, that there is nobody that can remove, or push him aside, or to step aside, except God. Some of you don’t even understand. I saw a slogan moving All eyes on judiciary, and on the day of judgment all the eyes on judiciary were sleeping. Then you know there is something spiritual on All eyes on judiciary. There is something spiritual, everybody was sleeping, and the judiciary eye was on the people that were supposed to put eye on the judiciary.

The wonderful highly esteemed judge eyes were open reading judgment, the people fighting for judgment uhuh uhuh. All eyes on our strong learned colleague.

Even journalists that were covering the whole thing, their eyes were sleeping , you will know there is something spiritual on all eyes on the judiciary.  You that came to plead case on the day of judgment, you are sleeping, you were looking and you were sleeping. I know you will interpret it that they were all tired, the tiredness can not just come all randomly like that, pam! At least you will tell this one to sleep while my eye is open.

“Prophetically, the way forward. I thank God for the great fight from His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku and our great man Peter Obi. They are wonderful men. They have proven that, look, we can wrestle. I am just telling you as a Prophet what I see. If you go to Supreme Court after everything you are still going to get the same thing you have now, that’s it. I know you will attack me but I am telling you before you go, if I were you I will spend time putting my party in order, preparing for 2027. And hear me, until this party, PDP, Labour party understand Collaboration, as long as you are divided, I can tell you the result that you will get in 2027”.

I can tell you, as long as you are divided. You can abuse me, I am not even talking to you now, I am not even talking about Supreme Court, I am talking about 2027. If you don’t put your house in order, the umbrella can tear, and Papa and Mama can turn their back. I speak to you, and attack me. I don’t want to be popular but I want to tell you the truth, and what is the truth? If you can stay and put your house in order then you are prepared but not now: should you not go for your mandate? Go and fight, but I am telling you there is nothing new that will come out of it, it’s the same result that you get now that  you will get .

“Are you trying to preempt the result?  No, I am trying to tell you what I have seen, I am not talking from a legal perspective, I am talking from a spiritual perspective. I entered the future, I saw the evidence you brought, and I saw the Judgment and I still see even more serious interpretations than what you have”.

“What is today’s date? Write it down, so that when the result comes out you will know”.

What is my advice?  Spend time coming together. I am not supposed to give you this expo, but I am giving you, I have said this, the only person that can remove the President there is God.  And His Excellency please sir, spend time on your health. And please sir watch what you take because friends will soon become enemies”.

“I want to be unpopular so that when I speak, you know a prophet has spoken”.

“So that there should be no medical emergency abroad. Sir your Excellency, spend time on your health. Friends can become enemies, because too many ambitious people are around you. The future is pregnant with a lot of meanings. Don’t forget what I say, I say  the only person that can remove anybody is God. He said they should tell Obi and Atiku that it’s the same thing that will still happen, because it’s only God that can move him

Before Tinubu even came out that he wanted to run, Prophet was the one that first told us that Tinubu will be President, and everybody insulted him, even me.

Stand-Up Order: Obasanjo Didn’t Disrespect Oyo Obas – Olubadan

Stand-Up Order: Obasanjo Didn’t Disrespect Oyo Obas – Olubadan

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, on Tuesday, defended ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo over his encounter with some traditional rulers in Oyo.

Obasanjo during a public function in Iseyin, chided the monarchs for failing to stand up to greet Governor Seyi Makinde at a public function.

He then ordered the monarchs to “Stand up! Sit down!” to honour the governor.

The incident drew condemnation from many, who believed Obasanjo rubbished the Yoruba traditional institution.

But Olubadan while describing the incident as unfortunate, said that contrary to the views expressed by many, Obasanjo was a respecter of tradition and did not rubbish the traditional rulers.

Speaking with journalists at his Alarere residence in Ibadan as part of activities marking his 81st birthday celebration, the Olubadan said he had known Obasanjo for a long time and he had always been a respecter of traditional institutions.

“Obasanjo is my brother and friend. We have been together for a long time. He is not disrespectful, as being alleged. He is a respecter of traditional stools. What happened on the said day when Obasanjo was barking out orders at members of the Council of Obas and Chiefs at a function in Iseyin is quite unfortunate. Both sides didn’t expect the way the media turned it to,” the Olubadan said.

Issue our passports, we want to go home, some Nigerians in US appeal to consulate in New York

Some Nigerians resident in the United States of America (USA) have called on the Federal Government to prevail on the Nigerian consulate in New York to issue them with their international passports to enable them visit home.

They alleged that the officials of the Nigerian consulate in New York took their biometric in August 2022 after they had applied for renewal but have not been issued with a replacement more than a year after.

This, they said had put the applicants who included students and professionals in a dilemma as it was impossible to travel to Nigeria to see their families.

Members of the Nigerian Community Association in Milwaukee, Wisconsin who were affected alleged that their biometrics were taken in a 3-day exercise supervised by the Consulate General from New York in August 2022 but were yet to be issued with their international passports.

Narrating her experience, one of the applicants, Miss Obiaku Chidimma alleged that the New York consulate officials had not got back to her after taking the biometric about fourteen months ago.

Chidimma said even the intervention of the leadership of Nigerian community in Milwaukee, Wisconsin which liaised with New York consulate office did not produce a different result.

She said she had purchased air ticket to travel to Nigeria but the airline said they would not lift her because her passport was not valid.

She said the airline demanded a cover not from Nigeria consular office processing the passport but she could not get it because the New York consulate office did not respond to several enquiries.made through several channels including calls and email.

“Many of us planning to visit our families in Nigeria during the yuletide seasons will not be able to do so now because of the refusal of the Nigerian embassy in New York to issue our international passports to us,” she said.

The embattled Nigerians are calling on the federal government through the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Immigration Services and Diaspora Commission to prevail on the Nigerian Consulate in New York to issue them with their international passports which they had paid for with biometrics taken

CAN Press Statement on the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

1. Abuja, Nigeria - The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) is deeply concerned about the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict that has resulted in the loss of countless lives, destruction of infrastructure, and deepened the humanitarian crisis in the region. We are also concerned about its implications for Nigeria and Nigerian pilgrims.

2. The recent surprise attack by a militant group on Israeli citizens, resulting in the tragic loss of numerous lives and abduction of several persons, including women and children, is a distressing event that undermines the pursuit of global peace. CAN firmly condemns any act of violence that threatens the lives of innocent individuals, regardless of their nationality or religious background.

3. While recognizing Israel's right to self-defense, we emphasize the importance of proportionality and the avoidance of harm to innocent civilians in any military response. The loss of innocent lives on both sides of the conflict is a tragic consequence of this escalating situation, and we extend our deepest condolences to all those who have suffered the loss of their loved ones in these incidents.

4. Consequently, we call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and violence between Israel and Palestine. We believe in the sanctity of human life and the principles of justice and peace, as upheld by our Christian faith. We urge all parties involved to engage in dialogue and seek diplomatic solutions.

It is crucial for religious leaders and communities in Nigeria to actively promote understanding, compassion, and peaceful coexistence among diverse religious groups. We must resist the temptation to allow this conflict to deepen divisions or inflame religious tensions within our nation, Nigeria.

7. In light of these developments, CAN prays for the repose of the souls of those who were killed in the violent attack and the resultant war, as well as reconciliation, healing, and enduring peace in the region. May God Almighty comfort their families.
