Panic As Gunmen Kidnap Worshippers In Ondo
A clash between Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Amotekun, Operation Burst, Soludero and a group of herdsmen on Monday in Iwerele, Iwajowa Local Government Area of Oyo State reportedly left many feared dead.
According to Punch, at the time of filing this report, the cause of the conflict was still sketchy.
The clash, however, was confirmed by a titled Chief in the community.
The source said a group of herdsmen had invaded a farm in the community with their cattle and grazed on it, a situation which led to the demise of the owner of the farm during the argument.
It was noted that combined security operatives of Operation Burst, OPC, Amotekun and Soludero were informed to restore peace in the area but they were allegedly ambushed by herdsmen.
The number of those killed is yet to be ascertained.
Tensions As Bandits Kidnap Scores In Fresh Attack In Kano
In other news, scores of people have been reportedly kidnapped as gunmen suspected of being bandits attack Yola village of Karaye Local Government Area in Kano State.
Reports made available to newsmen on Tuesday morning revealed that the gunmen carried out the latest attack during the last weekend. The number of the villagers abducted and reportedly killed could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, Naija News understands.
A resident, who confirmed the latest attack to Daily Trust on condition of anonymity, said he could not ascertain how many people were abducted or killed in the Saturday invasion.
