UK Advocacy Groups Tackle Minister Ojo Over New Passport Acquisition Policy

UK Advocacy Groups Tackle Minister Ojo  Over New Passport Acquisition Policy

Several Nigerian  advocacy groups in London, have voiced out their discontent over the new policy of the Nigeria Interior Minister, Tunji-Ojo concerning passport acquisition which many  Nigerians have  been complaining about lately.
The new policy we gathered is the introduction of $300 additional payment to fast track the process of acquiring Nigerian passport in the UK.

The minister is accused of using his office to sell pains to his fellow countrymen in that part of the world, who need to obtain a passport.

Many ,who have voiced their displeasure are saying it was a deliberate act on the part of the minister whom they claim is making the passport scarce , so that many will be forced to pay the three hundred dollars fee for the fast tracking service.

The not too pleasing ongoing situation, has made Transparency Nigeria to issued a statement to demand a thorough review of the claims.

Part of the  statement reads: "It is imperative for the government to act swiftly and decisively to restore faith in our systems."

On social media, the public's reactions in the UK have been swift and unforgiving.

Hashtags such as #OjoScandal and #CorruptionWatch have been trending, with citizens expressing their frustration over the current situation .

“This isn't just about one man; it's about the systemic issues that allow such practices to thrive," commented one user.

Ojo's office is yet to release an official response. However, insiders suggest that an internal review is imminent. The Nigerian government, already grappling with multiple fronts of public unrest, cannot afford to turn a blind eye to such grave allegations, another source averred.

As the investigation progresses, all eyes remain fixed on the authorities to see how they navigate and resolve this contentious issue.
