Sanwo-Olu Hails Late Prophet Alogbo’s Contributions to Peaceful Coexistence

LAGOS — Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has described the late Supreme Head of the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, His Most Eminence Prophet Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo, as a respected religious leader whose ministry contributed significantly to peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual respect in Lagos State.

Sanwo-Olu made the remarks on Thursday during the commendation service and wake-keep held in honour of the late cleric at Seraphim Land, Maba, Ogun State.

The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, described Prophet Alogbo’s death as a significant loss to his family, the church, the Christian community, Lagos State and Nigeria.

He noted that the late cleric dedicated his life to serving God and humanity, adding that his ministry positively influenced numerous lives and strengthened unity within the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.

According to the governor, Prophet Alogbo’s life was characterised by sacrifice, steadfastness, vision and selfless service.

“Prophet Alogbo lived a life distinguished by vision, sacrifice, steadfastness and service. From humble beginnings, he nurtured a spiritual movement and transformed it into a sanctuary of faith, fellowship and worship for countless believers,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He added that the church established under the late cleric’s leadership, alongside the ministers and worshippers he mentored, remained enduring testimonies to his commitment to God and humanity.

The governor further observed that Prophet Alogbo’s efforts to promote unity among members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church encouraged fellowship, shared faith and a common sense of purpose among worshippers.

He also acknowledged the church’s contributions to the spiritual well-being of residents through its ministry, prayers, moral guidance and community service.

Sanwo-Olu urged members of the church to preserve the late cleric’s legacy by sustaining his values of compassion, selfless service, spiritual leadership and commitment to humanity.

He also called on the church to intensify prayers for Lagos State and Nigeria, particularly as the country approaches another electoral season.

“Papa’s departure is particularly missed at this time as Nigeria approaches another electoral season, a period in which the prayers, wisdom and moral guidance of our revered fathers in faith are greatly needed,” he said.

The governor expressed confidence that the church would continue to pray for the peace and development of Lagos State and Nigeria, as well as the peaceful conduct of forthcoming elections.

He concluded by praying for divine comfort and strength for the deceased’s family and members of the church, urging them to draw encouragement from the values Prophet Alogbo upheld and the many lives he touched during his lifetime.
