Following the high rate of insecurity especially from the fulani herdsmen in the north central state Benue, their outspoken governor Samuel Ortom has promised his elected military personnels different forms of the sophisticated weapon AK-47. According to Sahara Reporters, he made this statement while addressing the issue of insecurity in the state. He was seen with a complete security outfit as a sign of seriousness. He has appointed 500 personnels to be trained for the mission. The name of the security body is Community Volunteer Guards.

He has expressed his sadness on how the fulani herdsmen are ravaging farm lands and killing the owners. There was a certain time he was attacked on his farm but he fortunately escaped. The rate of insecurity will actually be reduced drastically in the state if he is able to accomplish his promises. Since the federal government are not ready to protect the country, it is actually time for all state governors to rise and defend their state. There is no need to relent as almost all part of the country is currently under threat.
