APC Group Pick Best Running Mate For Tinubu

2)A group, Tinubu Support Organisation, has endorsed the Kaduna State Governor, Malma Nasir El-Rufai, as the best choice of running mate for the All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

3)The TSO said it arrived at the decision after its consultative meeting with critical stakeholders of the APC in the North-West geopolitical zone of the country.

4)The group noted that the APC had many outstanding individuals among its leaders that could serve as Tinubu’s running mate but the North-West, as the single largest voting bloc in Nigeria, should be allowed to produce the next Vice President.

5)The Niger State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Haliru Zakari Jikantoro, has announced that the party has submitted names of Hon.

6)Umar Mohammed Bago and Comrade Yakubu Garba as governorship and deputy candidates for the forthcoming general elections in 2023, to the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC.

7)The party made the disclosure in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Musa D. Sarkindaji in Minna.

8)Comrade Yakubu Garba is currently the state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.

9)No examination on Eid-el-Kabir day — NECO.

The National Examinations Council (NECO) says it has not scheduled any examination for July 9, contrary to insinuations in some quarters that it scheduled examination date on Eid-el-Kabir (Sallah) day.
The council stated this in a statement by the Head Information and Public Relations Division, Mr Azeez Sani and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

10)Buhari’s Government Reacts After U.S. Senators Wrote President Biden To Lament Killing Of Christians In Nigeria .

The Nigerian Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has faulted the call for the redesignation of Nigeria as a country of particular concern by American senators because of the alleged persecution of Christians.

SaharaReporters had reported that Republican Senators, Marco Rubio and Josh Hawley wrote to President Joe Biden to redesignate Nigeria as a ‘Country of Particular Concern’ over increasing cases of violence against Christians in the country. It reported that the letter was signed by another three senators, Mike Braun, Tom Cotton and Jim Inhofe.
